이 행사는 소프트웨어 업계 리더로서 그동안 축적한 개발 노하우와 보안 기술을 공유함으로써 함께 성장하자는 차원에서 기획됐다. 소프트웨어 기업이 소프트웨어 개발자를 위해 개최하는 행사라는 점에서 의미가 크다.
 
‘안랩 코어’는 김홍선 대표의 ‘차세대 연구개발 전략’, 연구개발 총괄 조시행 상무의 ‘악성코드 변천사’ 발표를 시작으로 보안 기술[Security Technology] 트랙과 소프트웨어 개발[Software Development] 트랙으로 나누어 15개의 주제 발표를 한다.
 
트랙A에서는 보안 트렌드 분석 및 대응 전략에 초점을 맞춘다. ‘악성코드, 그리고 분석가들’의 저자 이상철 팀장 등이 최신 해킹 공격 기법 및 방어, 타임 라인 기법을 이용한 침해사고 분석, 온라인 게임 해킹, 네트워크 포렌식 분석 기술을 발표한다.
 
트랙B에서는 효율적이고 체계적인 소프트웨어 개발 방법론을 중점적으로 다룬다. 지금까지 안철수연구소가 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스 개선에서 얻은 경험과 노하우를 공유하고, 개발 단계에서부터 보안성을 고려해 효율적으로 업데이트하는 기술을 소개한다.

글로벌 통합보안 기업인 안철수연구소[대표 김홍선, www.ahnlab.com, 약칭 안랩]는 7일 스티브 잡스의 사망을 악용한 악성코드가 처음 발견돼 V3 제품군을 긴급 업데이트했다고 밝혔다.
 
이 악성코드는 스팸성 메일을 통해 유포되며, 메일 제목은 ‘Steve Jobs Alive!’ ‘Steve Jobs Not Dead!’ ‘Steve Jobs: Not Dead Yet!’ ‘Is Steve Jobs Really Dead?’ 중 하나이다. 본문에는 인터넷 주소[http://john******.com/pack.html]가 포함되어 있다. 이 웹페이지에는 보안 취약점이 존재하여 취약점이 있는 웹 브라우저로 접속하면 worms.jar 파일이 다운로드 및 실행된다. worms.jar 파일은 같은 메일을 대량 발송하며, 다른 악성코드들을 다운로드하는 기능이 있다.
 
또한 감염된 컴퓨터에 USB가 연결되어 있으면 보안 취약점[MS10-046[CVE-2010-2568]]을 악용하는 바로가기 파일[*.lnk]과 자신의 복사본을 생성한다. 보안 패치가 되지 않은 다른 컴퓨터에 USB를 연결해 바로가기 파일을 윈도우 탐색기로 보면 악성코드에 감염된다. 이 악성코드는 감염된 컴퓨터에서 FTP[파일전송프로토콜] 서버의 주소, ID, 비밀번호를 수집해 외부로 전송하는 기능을 갖고 있다.
 
기업의 경우 FTP 서버는 중요 파일이나 데이터를 보관하는 서버이므로, 계정이 유출되면 중요 자료가 유출될 수 있다. 또한 이렇게 유출된 데이터는 악성코드 유포 등 다른 보안 위협에 악용될 수 있다. 실제로 인터넷 상에는 유출된 FTP 서버 정보가 암거래되기도 하는 것으로 알려져 있다.
 
안철수연구소 이호웅 시큐리티대응센터[ASEC]장은 "마이클 잭슨 사망 등 유명인의 사건 사고에는 어김없이 관련 악성코드가 등장한다. 사회적으로 이목이 집중되는 사안을 이용해 악성코드를 유포하기 위함이다. 이메일에 첨부된 파일이나 링크 주소를 함부로 열지 말고 보안 프로그램을 항상 최신 버전으로 유지하는 한편 실시간 감시 기능을 사용해야 안전하다.”라고 강조했다.
 
<이메일로 유포되는 악성코드 예방법>
1. 잘 모르는 사람이 보낸 메일은 가급적 열지 말고 삭제한다.
2. 이메일에 첨부된 파일은 바로 실행하지 말고 최신 엔진의 통합백신으로 검사한 후 실행한다.
3. 이메일에 존재하는 의심스런 웹사이트 링크를 함부로 클릭하지 않는다.
4. 안티 스팸 솔루션을 설치해 스팸 및 악의적인 이메일의 수신을 최소화한다.
5. V3 같은 통합백신을 설치하고 실시간 감시 기능을 켜둔다.
6. 사이트가드[SiteGuard] 같은 웹 보안 소프트웨어를 설치해 악의적 웹사이트 접속을 예방한다.
7. 윈도우, 인터넷 익스플로러 및 오피스 제품 등의 최신 보안 패치를 모두 설치한다. <Ahn>

글로벌 종합보안기업인 안철수연구소[대표 김홍선 www.ahnlab.com, 약칭 ‘안랩’]는 15일 위험 사이트 접속 차단 무료 보안 서비스인 ‘소셜 사이트가드’[http://www.SiteGuard.co.kr]에 적용된 신기술이 국내 특허를 획득하고 PCT 국제 특허[보충설명]를 출원했다고 발표했다.
 
‘사이트가드’는 사용자가 악성코드 유포 사이트나 사기 사이트, 피싱 사이트에 접속을 시도할 경우 사전에 차단하여 개인 정보를 보호해준다. 또한 포털 사이트에서 검색 시 1차 검색 결과 화면에 해당 페이지의 안전 여부를 표시해준다. 파일 다운로드 시 악성코드 유무를 검사해 감염된 파일을 삭제하며, 접속하려는 웹사이트가 해킹 등에 의해 변조됐는지도 알려준다.
 
이번 특허 기술의 명칭은 ‘패킷 감시 장치 및 그 방법, 프로그램이 기록된 기록 매체와 변조 데이터 관리 장치 및 그 방법’이다. 악성코드에 감염되었거나 사기성 데이터에 의해 변조된 콘텐츠를 검출해 유포를 차단하는 기술이다.
 
인터넷의 다양한 콘텐츠 가운데는 악성코드나 피싱 사이트 등 악의적인 콘텐츠가 적지 않다. 하지만 안전을 위해 인터넷 접속을 차단하는 것은 현실적으로 어려운 것이 사실이다. 이로 인해 변조된 유해 콘텐츠가 인터넷을 경유해 사용자 PC에 유입되기 쉽다. 이번 특허 기술은 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위한 것이다. 즉, 특정 포트로 변조된 콘텐츠가 송수신되는 것을 감지하고 사용자에게 그 정보를 제공함으로써 변조된 콘텐츠의 유포를 차단한다.
 
‘사이트가드’는 현재 1,500만여 명이 사용하며, 최근 기부 시스템과 결합해 신개념 기부 플랫폼인 ‘소셜 사이트가드’로 재탄생했다.
 
<보충설명 - PCT 국제 특허>
 
PCT[Patent Cooperation Treaty; 특허협력조약]는 1970년에 체결된 국제적인 특허 법률 조약이다. 이 조약에 가입한 나라 간에 특허 출원 수속을 간소화하고, 출원인과 각국 특허청의 부담을 줄이고, 특허 정보 이용을 쉽게 하자는 취지로 만들어졌다. 우리나라는 1984년 8월에 가입했다. PCT 국제 출원을 하면 모든 회원국에 동시에 출원한 것과 같은 효과를 일단 부여하고, 추후에는 실제로 출원할 국가에 대하여만 국내 절차를 밟을 수 있다.

클라우드 백신으로 위장한 허위 백신 발견 :: 2011/09/02 15:59

전 세계적으로 악성코드의 급격한 증가는 이에 대응하기 위해 보안 업체들로 하여금 다양한 보안 기술들을 연구하고 발전시키게 되는 하나의 계기가 되었다.


이러한 보안 기술들의 괄목한 발전 중 하나로는 클라우드(Cloud) 기술을 안티 바이러스(Anti-Virus) 기술로 발전시켜서 발전 시킨 것이라고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 클라우드 기술이 적용된 사례로는 안철수연구소에서 개발한 ASD(AhnLab Smart Defense)를 들 수가 있다.

이렇게 클라우드 기술이 적용된 안티 바이러스 소프트웨어들이 널리 유행하기 시작하자 해외에서 제작된 허위 백신들 중에서도 클라우드라는 단어를 사용하여 정상적인 보안 소프트웨어 인 것으로 위장한 사례가 발견되었다.

해당 허위 백신은 시스템에 감염되면 아래 경로에 자신의 복사본을 OpenCloud Antivirus.exe(2,420,224 바이트)로 생성하게 된다.

그리고 아래 이미지와 같이 "OpenCloud Antivirus"라는 명칭으로 클라우드 기술을 적용한 정상적인 보안 제품으로 위장하고 있다.

해당 허위 백신은 감염과 동시에 시스템 전체를 검사하여 윈도우(Windows) 시스템에 존재하는 정상적인 파일들 다수를 악성코드에 감염된 파일로 허위 진단 결과를 보여주게 된다.

허위 진단 결과를 시스템 사용자에게 보여줌과 동시에 아래 이미지와 같이 시스템트레이(System Tray)를 통해 주기적으로 사용하는 시스템이 악성코드에 감염되었다는 허위 경고 문구를 보여주고 있다.

윈도우 시스템에 존재하는 정상 파일들을 악성코드라고 진단한 허위 진단 결과를 통해 해당 파일들을 치료하기를 시도하면 다른 허위 백신들과 유사하게 금전적인 결제를 유도하나, 테스트 당시에는 정상적으로 해당 웹 사이트에 접속 되지 않았다.

이 번에 발견된 클라우드 보안 제품으로 위장한 허위 백신은 V3 제품군에서 다음과 같이 진단한다.

악성코드로부터의 피해를 예방하기 위해서는 사용하는 시스템에 다음과 같은 사항들을 적용하여 피해가 발생하기 전에 주의를 하는 것이 중요하다.

1. 마이크로소프트 업데이트 웹 사이트를 통해 시스템에 설치된 윈도우 운영체제, 인터넷 익스플로러 및 오프스 제품에 존재하는 취약점을 제거하는 보안 패치를 모두 설치한다.

2. 자주 사용하는 컴퓨터 시스템에는 V3 365 클리닉과 같은 방화벽과 백신이 포함되어 있는 통합 보안 제품을 반드시 설치한다.

3. 웹 브라우저를 통해 유포되는 악성코드의 감염을 예방하고 사기 사이트 및 피싱 사이트를 차단하는 사이트가드(SiteGuard)와 같은 웹 브라우저 보안 소프트웨어 를 같이 설치하는 것이 중요하다.

4. 사용중인 컴퓨터 시스템에 설치된 백신을 항상 최신 엔진으로 업데이트 하고 실시간 감시를 켜두는 것이 중요하다.

5. 전자 메일에 첨부파일이 존재 할 경우 실행 하지 않도록 주의 하며 저장후 최신 엔진으로 업데이트된 백신을 통해 먼저 검사를 한 후 실행 하도록 한다.

6. 전자 메일에 존재하는  의심스런 웹 사이트 링크는 클릭하지 않는다.

    안전모드로 들어가서 V3를 돌렸는데 하나도 못잡아냈어요.

안철수연구소, “스마트폰 악성코드 급증” :: 2011/08/12 10:45

글로벌 종합보안 기업인 안철수연구소[대표 김홍선, www.ahnlab.com]는 최근 들어 안드로이드 기반 스마트폰 악성코드가 급증하는 추세라고 발표했다.
 
안철수연구소 시큐리티대응센터[ASEC]가 집계한 결과 작년 8월부터 발견되기 시작해 올해 들어 본격 증가하는 추세다. 지난해 하반기에 발견된 안드로이드 악성코드가 7개인 데 비해 올해 상반기에는 110개, 하반기 들어서는 7월 한 달 동안에만 107개가 발견돼 가파르게 급증하는 상황이다[표].

현재까지 발견된 안드로이드 악성코드의 증상은 위치 정보, 단말기 정보 등 개인 정보를 유출하는 행위가 가장 많다. 다음으로 원격 조종을 통한 통화 및 SMS 발송으로 무단 과금하는 형태, 정상 애플리케이션[이하 앱]을 변조해 악성코드 설치 코드를 추가하는 형태가 적지 않은 비중을 차지한다.
 
또한 작년까지는 러시아에서 개발된 것으로 추정되는 악성코드가 많았으나 최근엔 중국에서 개발된 것으로 추정되는 악성코드가 많다.
 
안철수연구소 시큐리티대응센터 이호웅 센터장은 “스마트폰은 PC와 달리 이동성과 개인화가 특징인 만큼 개인 정보 유출이나 금전적인 피해에 노출되기 쉽다. 안드로이드 마켓에 올라오는 앱은 바로 설치하지 말고 평판을 지켜본 후 안전하다고 판단되면 설치하는 것이 좋다. 또한 공식 마켓이 아닌 써드 파티 마켓은 사용을 자제하는 것이 좋다.”라고 당부했다.
 
한편, 안철수연구소는 안드로이용 보안 애플리케이션인 ‘V3 Mobile for Android [V3 모바일 안드로이드]’를 삼성전자 갤럭시’ 시리즈를 비롯해 LG전자, 모토로라, 팬택의 스마트폰에 공급 중이다. 또한 V3 Mobile+는 50여 은행 및 증권사에도 공급돼 스마트폰 금융 거래 시 악성코드 유입 및 작동을 방지한다.
 
* 안철수연구소가 권하는 스마트폰 보안 10계명
 
1. PC로부터 스마트폰으로 파일을 전송 받을 경우 백신으로 악성코드 여부를 꼭 확인한다.

2. 게임 등 애플리케이션을 다운로드할 때는 신중하게 다른 사람이 올린 평판 정보를 먼저 확인한다.

3. 브라우저나 애플리케이션으로 인터넷에 연결 시 확인되지 않은 전송자로부터 온 이메일이나 문자 메시지에 있는 URL은 클릭하지 않는다.

4. 애플리케이션을 설치하거나 의심스러운 파일을 다운로드한 경우에는 반드시 스마트폰 전용 백신으로 악성코드 검사를 한다.  

5. 스마트폰용 보안 소프트웨어[V3 Mobile 등]를 설치하고 엔진을 항상 최신으로 유지한다.  

6. 스마트폰의 잠금 기능[암호 설정]을 이용해서 다른 사용자의 접근을 막는다. 잠금 기능에 사용한 비밀번호를 수시로 변경한다.  

7. 블루투스 기능을 켜놓으면 악성코드에 감염될 가능성이 높으므로 필요할 때만 켜놓는다.

8. ID, 패스워드 등을 스마트폰에 저장하지 않는다.

9. 백업을 주기적으로 받아서 분실 시 정보의 공백이 생기지 않도록 한다.

10. 임의로 개조하거나 복사방지 등을 풀어서 사용하지 않는다.

온라인게임이 전세계적으로 인기를 끌면서 자신의 레벨 상승이나 불법 아이템획득, 금전거래 등 공정한 게임 진행을 저해할 목적으로 하는 해킹시도도 전세계적으로 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 특히 이 중 가장 많은 비중을 차지하고 있는 메모리 조작은 실행파일이 동작하는 게임 메모리 상에 위치한 코드를 수정하여 게임의 원래 동작방식과 다르게 동작하도록 하는 해킹 방식으로, 게임 도중에도 지속적으로 변경이 가능해 많은 피해가 발생하고 있다.
 
현재 핵쉴드에 적용 중인 이번 특허 신기술은 데이터를 전송할 때 전송된 데이터에 오류가 있는지를 확인하기 위해 사용되는 CRC 방식을 이용해 메모리조작 유무를 검사한다. 게임에 사용되는 특정 실행파일[.exe 및 .dll 등]에 대한 원본 CRC값을 생성하고, 이 파일이 실행되어 게임 메모리 상에 반영된 이후 주기적으로 CRC 값을 생성해 서로 비교해 일치 여부에 따라 메모리조작 유무를 판단하는 방식이다.
 
이번 기술을 통해 메모리 상에 지정된 파일이 반영된 이후 즉각적으로 조작여부를 파악할 수 있기 때문에 신속한 메모리 보호가 가능하며, 파일의 핵심적인 코드영역만을 크기 별로 나누어 검사함으로써 시스템 성능 저하를 최소화 하는 동시에 빠르고 정확한 검사를 수행할 수 있다.

[1] CRC [Cyclic Redundancy Check]

순환 중복 검사, CRC[cyclic redundancy check]는 네트워크 등을 통하여 데이터를 전송할 때 전송된 데이터에 오류가 있는지를 확인하기 위한 체크값을 결정하는 방식을 말한다. 데이터를 전송하기 전에 주어진 데이터의 값에 따라 CRC 값을 계산하여 데이터에 붙여 전송하고, 데이터 전송이 끝난 후 받은 데이터의 값으로 다시 CRC 값을 계산하게 된다. 이어서 두 값을 비교하고, 이 두 값이 다르면 데이터 전송 과정에서 잡음 등에 의해 오류가 덧붙여 전송된 것 임을 알 수 있다.

보안 취약점을 이용한 악성코드 조치방법 :: 2011/07/15 09:53

특히 치료 후에도 다양한 변종에 의해 지속적으로 재감염되는 사례가 증가하고 있습니다.

다수의 SNS를 전파 경로로 악용하는 메신저 악성코드 :: 2011/07/07 18:23

인터넷(Internet)의 발달과 함께 인스턴트 메신저(Instant Messenger) 프로그램의 개발은 인터넷을 통해 언제든지 사람들과 실시간 소통이 가능하도록 되었다. 이러한 인스턴트 메신저 프로그램 역시 악성코드가 유포되는 경로 중 하나로 오랜전부터 악용되어 왔었다.



이와 함께 최근 소셜 네트워크 서비스(Social Network Service)의 활용 빈도가 증가한 이 후로는 2010년 11월 페이스북(Facebook)의 채팅 메시지로 악성코드 유포 사례도 존재한다.

최근 6월 말에 발견된 인스턴트 메신저 프로그램을 통해 유포되는 악성코드 중 현재 많은 사람들이 사용하고 있는 소셜 네트워크 서비스 대부분을 악성코드 유포를 위한 또 다른 경로로 복합적으로 악용하는 것을 발견하였다.

이 번에 발견된 악성코드가 시스템에서 실행이 되면 아래 이미지와 같이 윈도우(Windows) 시스템에 존재하는 정상 프로세스 중 하나인 Explorer.exe의 특정 메모리 영역에 자신의 코드 전체를 덮어쓰게 된다.

그리고 악성코드 제작자가 지정한 명령을 수행하기 위해 외부 네트워크에 위치한 특정하는 시스템으로 접속을 시도하게 된다.

테스트 당시 해당 악성코드는 악성코드 제작자의 명령에 따라 아래 이미지와 같이 특정 시스템에 존재하는 텍스트(Text) 파일을 다운로드 하도록 되어 있었다.

해당 텍스트 파일은 감염된 시스템에서 보안 제품의 업데이트 또는 보안 업체 웹 사이트로의 접속을 방해하기 위해 다수의 보안 업체 리스트들을 포함하고 있다.

접속을 방해하기 위한 리스트가 작성되어 있는 텍스트 파일에는 아래 이미지와 같이 안철수연구소의 도메인도 포함 되어 있으며, 이외에 또 다른 국내 보안 업체인 하우리(Hauri)의 도메인도 포함되어 있다.

그리고 다시 파일 공유로 유명한 래피드쉐어(RapidShare)에 악성코드 제작자가 미리 업로드 해두었던 다른 악성코드를 다운로드 및 실행 하도록 한다.

해당 악성코드의 주된 유포 경로들은 아래 이미지에서와 같이 많은 사람들이 사용하는 이동형 저장 장치(USB)와 마이크로소프트(Microsoft)에서 개발한 MSN 메신저 프로그램을 악용하고 있다.

그리고 USB와 MSN 메신저 프로그램외에도 감염된 시스템에서 트위터(Twitter)와 페이스북의 로그인 세션이 이루어져 있다면, 해당 세션을 이용하여 사용자 모르게 트위터와 페이스북으로 로그인을 시도한다.

로그인이 성공하게 되면 각각의 SNS에 등록되어 있는 지인들에게 위 이미지와 같이 악성코드를 다운로드 할 수 있는 링크가 포함된 다이렉트 메시지(Direct Message), 페이스북의 담벼락 메시지 그리고 페이스북 채팅 메시지로 전달을 시도한다.

이 외에도 해당 악성코드는 트위터와 페이스북과 함께 다른 소셜 네트워크 서비스들인 러시아에서 많이 이용되는 Vkontakte, Bebo와 Friendster 로도 악성코드 유포를 시도 한다.

추가적으로 해당 악성코드는 악성코드 제작자의 명령에 따라 다음의 악의적인 기능들도 추가적으로 수행 가능하다.

특정 웹 사이트, 도메인 접속 차단
Syn Flooding과 UDP Flooding를 통한 분산 서비스 거부(DDoS) 공격
파일 다운로드 및 실행
실행 중인 프로세스 강제 종료
지정된 특정 웹 사이트 및 FTP 로그인 사용자 계정과 암호 탈취

이 번에 발견된 다수의 소셜 네트워크 서비스와 MSN 메신저로 유포를 시도하는 악성코드는 V3 제품군에서 다음과 같이 진단한다.

해당 악성코드는 소셜 네트워크 서비스를 사용하는 사용자들이 증가함에 따라 악성코드 제작자 역시 기존 인스턴트 메신저를 하나의 악성코드 유포 경로로 악용하였던 것들에서 그 범위를 확장하여, 오픈 API를 제공하는 다양한 소셜 네트워크 서비스들을 또 다른 악성코드 유포의 경로로 악용한 사례로 볼 수 있다.

그러므로 소셜 네트워크 서비스를 통해 전달되는 다양한 메시지들 중에는 악성코드 감염을 위해 생성된 메시지도 포함될 수 있다는 것은 인식하고, 의심스러운 메시지에 포함된 링크를 클릭하지 않도록 주의가 필요하다.

    헐... SNS로도 전파가 가능하군요. 친구들 까지 믿지 못하게 만드는 악성중에 악성이네요. ㅜㅜ

    저 궁금한게 하나 있습니다. 얼마 전에 회사에서 쓰는 컴퓨터 중에 하나에서 이상한 현상이 발견되어서요. 익스플로러의 홈페이지 설정을 하려는데 자꾸 구글로 설정이 되더라구요. 혹시나 바이러스 같은 것이 걸렸나 싶어서 v3라이트로 검색을 해봤는데 안걸려 들더군요. 혹시나 익스플로러가 6.0이라 그런가 싶었는데, 8.0으로 업그레이드 시켜도 같은 문제가 발생하더군요. 그래서 홈페이지 설정을 두개로 할 수 밖에 없었습니다.

    이런 것도 악성코드의 일종인 걸까요? 아니면 단순 실수에 의한 것일까요? v3라이트로는 못잡는 바이러스인건가요??
